Our Pool Removal Services
Our team does both partial and full demolitions, depending on your choice. Each has its benefits and drawbacks, which we’ll gladly explain to you in detail based on your specific case.
Partial Pool Removal
Partial removal is the budget-friendly option that still gets the job done.
Holes are drilled in the bottom for drainage when it rains, then we break up the top 500mm of the pool walls. The broken concrete is left at the bottom of the pool and covered by backfill before compacting.
We follow the best techniques in layering the rubble and backfill properly to prevent any swelling or sinking.
It’s quicker and more cost-effective, but partial pool removal is only recommended for future lawns, gardens, and light landscaping. You can no longer build any structure on the site, which you must also disclose when selling the property.
Full Pool Removal
A full swimming pool removal means everything comes out, every piece of concrete, fibreglass, vinyl, and plumbing. After backfilling and compaction, you’re left with a cleared and leveled yard as if no swimming pool had ever been there.
While it takes longer and is more expensive, a complete removal means less chance of backfill instability, and the site is back to square one. This means it’s ready for future buildings, home extensions, or heavy landscaping.
Above-ground vs In-ground Pool Removal
Above-ground pool removal is pretty straightforward since the structure does not involve a large hole in your yard. We drain the pool, dismantle the walls and framework, and then remove all materials.
In comparison, in-ground pools are more complex to deal with. Most of our work involves in-ground pools because they’re the ones causing headaches for homeowners.
The job involves excavation, breaking up structures, and a complete site restoration. As professionals, our team specialises in both types of demolition.
Types of Pools We Demolish
Every pool type in WA needs a different approach, and in our decades of service in the region, we’ve seen them all.
Concrete Pool Removal
Concrete pools are tough cookies, but we’ve got the gear to handle them. We use hydraulic breakers and excavators that make quick work of even the thickest concrete. With the pool removed, we fill the hole and tamp it down.
Fibreglass Pool Removal
Fibreglass pools come out in solid pieces most of the time. We saw the pool shell into manageable parts before carefully hauling them out. These removals are usually faster and create less mess than concrete demolitions.
Vinyl Pool Removal
Vinyl pools are often built with steel or cement walls. We drain them, remove the liner, and then demolish the supporting structure. As always, we complete the job by backfilling, compacting, and regrading the previous pool site.
Why Remove Your Pool?
Here are reasons why many of our clients want their pool professionally removed:
- High maintenance costs: Pools are money pits when you’re not using them regularly.
- It needs regular cleaning: An outdoor pool can get dirty fast, and cleaning can cost you time, money, and energy.
- Safety concerns: Swimming pools can become hazards, especially with young children or pets around.
- Space reclamation: You could have a deck, garden, or extension instead.
- Insurance savings: No pool means lower home insurance premiums.
The Pool Removal Process
We make pool removal projects simple for our clients. You hire us to do the heavy work and handle all the details in demolishing your pool, so we do exactly that.
- We conduct a site inspection of the pool area to measure everything, assess soil conditions, and mark your underground utilities.
- You receive a written quote with cost breakdowns. We respond to any questions or concerns you might have, so you know exactly what to expect.
- We handle all paperwork with your local council. This can take 2-3 weeks, but we keep you updated throughout.
- Once the demolition is greenlit, we prepare the site, draining the pool, protecting your property, and notifying your neighbours.
- Our demolition specialists bring in heavy machinery and start breaking up your pool. We load the removed pool materials onto trucks and take them away to approved disposal sites.
- The hole gets filled with clean fill material. Each layer gets compacted properly using plate compactors and rollers.
- We grade the area and finish it off with some topsoil. We leave the site clean and tidy.
